Kiya is going into 9th grade at Leon High School. She was adopted from an orphanage in Ethiopia in 2010. Kiya appreciates the free education that she receives in the US and she loves the School of Arts & Sciences. She wants to be a doctor with Doctors Without Borders. Kiya credits NPR for helping her learn English. She is also a SciGirl.
